Steven Colbert asked:
Im 23 years old and pay over a hundred dollars per paycheck towards social security. The program is doomed and theres no way I will get a check every month when I retire so why should I be forced to pay? Should’nt we be allowed to opt out and put the money we save towards are own retirement plans or spend the way we wish?
To everyone who gave some BS answer…. blow me. You only made those comments because your old and will be collection SS soon….which i will be paying for. Everyone knows the system is deaply flawed and in danger!

I did contract work for under someone for under $1000. He has already paid part of the sum, but he’s asking for my social security number before he pays the remaining money. I was under the impression I only have to provide my social security number if he’s my employer. I am very hesitant about giving him this information, especially because it’s only contract work.
letmepray4you asked:
In my opinion it should never have been started. I am seeing many people over the age of retirement working and drawing social security too. It is an entitlement program that is robbing our country. If a person draws social security should he also be able to rob a place in employment for the younger generation? Is it a form of looting because everybody does it, then it is ok. We can not support both unemployment and social security. If you draw social security then you ought to let someone younger than you that does not work have your job. It is not my fault that you did not prepare for your old age and squandered all your money so that social security is not enough for you to live on.
The RAINMAN asked:
I was just wondering why privatizing social security is good. And how would it affect young people like 18-30. I hear the older generation has problems with social security and there won’t be any money left for young people when we grow up. Which candidate has a better plan for social security?
Tom G asked:
I was 65 last year and started collecting Social Security. I also was very fortunate to secure a full time job that lasted virtually all year. Now I may have to repay about $6,000 back to Social Security. I can’t pay back the money in one sum and I can’t have the amount deducted all at once from my Social Security payments each month. Any idea what is the least amount Social Security would accept in payments each month until I pay off the past amount?
KW asked:
My friend has it but her goal is to make more money and not need it. Her controlling mother called her job and told them not to pay her too much because of having it so she should not loose it. But she was looking for another better job, as a bar tender and she has been looking for years. None of the places she applied for hired. Could that be because her records say she has social security?
Oh and this is in the us
Jason F asked:
I have a client that is worried about having his social security withheld because he owes money to the state for back child support. Is it possible to withhold his social secuirty because of these child support payments? I thought social security couldn’t be touched.
Judy M asked:
I worked full time for 25 years and made a nice salary. Now I am only working parttime and making less money. Will this affect the amount of my check when I start collecting social security.
tg asked:
I believe my parent received money after my father passed. I would like to know if these would be considered a social security benefit.
wilsonb62 asked:
I had a business and once social security found out they stop my check. After social security deducted all the money I earned, I now receive my social security once again. I have another business idea but would it be wise to start a corporation. If so what type of corporation that would give me time to earn profits and not have to worry about social security until I’m ready.
